Sofware Challenges?

Do  you get overwhelmed when looking for software options?  There are many  choices out there for every need imaginable.  I found a great site that  gives many options for whatever category you are looking into. Check it  out….www.softwareadvice.com/construction/

Have  you heard of Dropbox?  I was introduced to this online information  sharing site a few years ago, and I thought it was brilliant then.  But  now I’m seeing it pop up in the construction industry for plan sharing.   I’m sure this is not the only way it is being used and you can keep you  and your key personnel on the same page instantaneously.  Check it  out….www.dropbox.com

I Read Lately…..

I  try to keep up on issues relating to small business (which could be a  full time job, by the way) so I run across interesting tidbits that I  feel would be helpful you, the construction business owner, and list  them here.   If you find anything out there that you think would help  others, please contact me so I can post the info.  Thanks!

  • Small  Business Watchdog is a blog that the Small Business of Advocacy started  last year.  This blog focuses on regulatory issues. This, of course,  spins off into issues affected by regulations such as unemployment, the  economy, and the future outlook for small business owners.  Examples of  recent posts on this site are: New Employment Law Updates, what the  Office of Advocacy is doing in Washington D.C. to relieve regulation  burdens.  Check it out…weblog.sba.gov/blog-advo

I read  an article lately that gives tips on what you need to take the time to  do in a week.  I know, I know – you’re thinking your weeks pretty full  already.  Trust me, I understand how you feel, but these are tips that  don’t have to take a lot of time and will help grow your business – so  give it a read.  The first tip is how to make time!  Interested now?

  • DELEGATE  – figure out time consuming task that you can outsource or delegate.  Use the time you would be doing that to taking time for your customers  (marketing).

  • FRESH LOOK – ask a stranger to look at your marketing material  (website, business cards, brochures, etc.) and ask for an honest opinion  about how it looks to them.  Be open to the answers you receive.

  • SOCIAL  MEDIA – in this day and age, social media is not just for teenagers  anymore.  Get your name out there – tweet, blog, facebook, join an  industry discussion site.  This is the new networking.  Do just 1 of  these things a week and you might be surprised at the results!
